- Frontal and peripheral grinding of frontal and cylindrical, inner and outer surfaces (machines equipped with a grinding attachment)
In the milling mode
- Milling the surfaces and co-axial slots with the head feed (axis X or Z) or with the rotation feed of the table (axis C)
- Milling the eccentric slots and general forms with the interpolation of axes X, Z and C
- Drilling and boring the openings in the axis and outside the axis of the table with the usage of a precise positioning
- Thread cutting in the axis and outside the axis of the table
- Milling, boring and cutting the threads under various angles towards the axis of the table (machines equipped with angular milling head)
Material such as cast iron, cast steel, alloy steel and fabricated steel can be machined.

Machine frame
The frame of double column machine consists of R.H. and L.H. columns, top rail and cross rail. The columns and cross rail are box-shaped castings with numerous ribs, the top rail is welded structure.
The cross rail can be moved vertically on the columns. Cross rail at working position is laid on positioning bars, which are firmly fixed on both column s. At this position it is blocked by means of hydraulic clamping units. Cross beam is absolutely parallel with clamping plate since corresponding steps on both positioning bars are ground at the same time and position. Distance of the steps is 200 mm. Coding of each step is done through serial limit switch and combination of stops. Lower guide surface of the crossbeam is lined with hardened strips.
Cross rail is provided with a device checking the wear of the elevating nut; a safety nut eliminates the danger of cross rail drop.
Guideways of cross rail and bottom parts of columns are covered.
Heads
The R.H. railhead and L.H. rail head (option) are controlled by CNC, type SINUMERIK 840D (DE), make SIEMENS.
All the heads have:
- Slideways lined with plastic
- Ball screw with double nut in feed drives
- Planetary gearbox “ZF-servo plan”
- Rams with hardened and ground guideways
- Safety brake on the ball screw
- Central, remote controlled lubrication of all guiding surfaces
- 1 pc tool holder for turning prepared for external cooling (for machine with ATC not delivered for R. H. rail head)
R.H.cross rail
